Horizon Power Corporate Volunteering Day

Horizon Power staff were glowing with pride after completing their day of tree guard removal on Rottnest Island.

On 14 May, as part of the Horizon Power - Rottnest Foundation partnership, we hosted a small but hardworking team from Horizon Power as they volunteered to contribute to our Woodlands Restoration Project.

Tree guards offer young seedlings protection as they grow, but once they are fully mature the guards can be removed to allow unrestricted growth.

Working in rugged terrain around Narrow Neck and the West End and contending with very mature (and sometimes unyielding) trees, the Horizon Power team rose to the challenge brilliantly, ensuring the trees in the area will now flourish.
